What is this?

HD-SocialBM is a plugin that enables you to display links to popular social bookmarking sites. It can be displayed anywhere on your site and will always include the current page URL and title within the social bookmarking links. It is currently set to add submit links to Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, Pinterest, Blogger, Bebo, StumbleUpon, Digg, FriendFeed and many more.

Yawn... Another social media plugin? What's the difference?

Although there are many social media bookmark extensions available, this one is built to be very easy to customize. Other extensions were either too difficult to reposition on the page (because they weren't available as a module OR a plugin), difficult to reorder the links, or difficult to update the images (unless you were a CSS sprite master).

How does the plugin work?

The plug-in uses a series of short triggers. It replaces any occurance of {fb} (within an article, module, component, code or anywhere else within your Joomla site) with the Facebook share link (and any occurance of {tw} with the Twitter share link, etc). Therefore you can control the order of your social bookmarking links with a sequence such as this... {fb}{tw}{li}{st}{di}{g+}

You can also shorten the sequence into a combination code so that {bm} replaces {fb}{tw}{li}{st}{di}{g+}

Furthermore you can add any HTML into your combination code allowing you to rearrange the links exactly to your liking.

So that {bm} replaces...

How to change images?

All the icons are stored in the following folder... plugins > system > HDsocialbm > icons

They are all 28px by 28px. To change the height or width you will need to edit the CSS

The CSS file is stored in plugins > system > HDsocialbm > icons.css
