What is a signposting website? It's a service run to point you in the direction of other organisations and websites. In this case, Community Transport Herts aims to highlight the nearest voluntary car schemes, door-to-door minibus hire services and community bus services that are available in Hertfordshire. Aimed primarily at older users, the site is designed with large easy-to-read fonts and accessibility settings for text-to-speech functions and colour contrast settings.

The main focus is the search facility that allows you to enter your address (or postcode or simply your town name) to find your nearest facility (which can be filtered down by distance and service type). This is powered by the Google Maps API which also displays the results in a pin map style.

As the project is funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government we set up an admin area to provide anonymous results on the searches performed and statistics on the number of times it was used per service.
